There is no charge to attend any of the seminars and places are allocated on a first come first serve basis on the day. We have six seminars on off from leading names in the photo industry including experts on Copyright, technology and image search and licensing. Below are details of the seminars being held over the two days of the show. If you would like to attend the seminars, you need to be registered for entrance to the show. The Orphan Works Debate Seminar outlining the legal and practical issues surrounding the orphan works debate, including reasonable searches for image authors and the risk implications of publishing images without credits. Nicola Solomon, Partner and Head of IP & Media department, Finers, Stephens, Innocent Seminar 2: A Word of Advice: Privacy, Censorship and Photography The legal perspective on implications of recent cases concerning images in the UK and Europe, focusing on some of the leading photo libraries. By looking at case studies, this seminar will explore how developing laws of privacy will affect the taking and publication of photos taken in public places. Angela Murphy, Digital Image Management Consultant Seminar 4: Read the Label: Metadata, Image Buying and Technology An informative panel discussion explaining the importance of standards and metadata when image buying. Topics covered will include the importance of effective communication, both in commissioning and supply, and the issue of accurate metadata.
